The VHA is governed by a six-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor of Vancouver, Washington. The Board meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the VHA's second floor board room. Meetings are open to the public.
RONALD K. KAWAMOTO, Chair
Mr. Kawamoto has been a commercial real estate broker for the firm of Norris Beggs & Simpson for the past 20 years. He has been a Fairview City Council member, Special Committees member in Multnomah County, and Board of Trustees Chairperson with Western Seminary and Hinson Church.
ERIC D. HOVEE, Vice Chair
Mr. Hovee is a principal of E. D. Hovee and Company, an economic and development consulting firm in Vancouver, Washington. He also serves on the Responsible Growth Forum, is a member of the Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Committee, and is past chair of the Columbia River Economic Development Council.
CECI RYAN SMITH, Second Vice Chair
Mrs. Ryan Smith is an educator who has taught in several U.S. cities and in the Phillipines. She is past president of the Clark College Alumni Association and has been a member of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation.
DEBRA CONWAY , Resident Commissioner
Ms. Conway was appointed to the Board of Commissioners in April 2008. She is a life long resident of Clark County. After earning a degree in Chemical Dependency, she worked as a drug and alcohol counselor. During this time, Ms. Conway collaborated with the Washington DSHS Division of Children and Family Services in Clark County to create a new program called Parent Partners to assist parents to successfully navigate through the child welfare system. Ms. Conway currently works for Washington State as Parent Partner Lead in Clark County's Division of Children and Family Services office. She also serves on the Washington State Parent Advocacy Committee and Dependency Court Lobby Restoration Committe.
STANFORD E. HOSMAN, Commissioner
Dr. Hosman is an educator and retired superintendent of the Camas School District. He has also been Secretary of the Board of Heritage Bank, President of the Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce, and Chair of Columbia Non-Profit Housing.
ART MILES, Commissioner
Mr. Miles, a Certified Public Accountant, was managing partner of the Vancouver office of Moss Adams LLP from 1977 through 2002, and currently is a partner working in the area of personal wealth services and business owner succession. He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Community Foundation of Southwest Washington.
