The VHA's Waiting List for Subsidized Housing

There is a limited supply of VHA subsidized housing to fill a great need. All housing types have waiting lists that vary depending on housing type. Those waiting lists may be closed, especially if wait times are more than one year.

Wait Lists Currently Open:

Elderly and Disabled Waiting List (for the following properties):

Columbia House
Van Vista

Wait Lists for all other Public Housing and Section 8 are currently closed. For a list of other housing options available in Clark County, please check the Other Housing Options page.

Average waiting times are:

Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher: 4- 5 years
VHA-owned housing: 3 - 5 years
Downtown high-rises: 6 months to 1 year

These wait times are not guaranteed and are provided so you know what to expect.

When the waiting lists for which you qualify are open, we encourage you to apply for subsidized housing if you need it. While you are on the waiting list, or if a category for which you qualify is closed, there are additional housing options that may be helpful for you.

Where am I on the list?

To inquire about your status on the waiting list, please call our request line at (360) 694-2501. We will require your social security number to look up your application.
