                                           INVITATION FOR BIDS

The Vancouver Housing Authority is receiving bids for Project “201204 – Valley Homestead” until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012  at the Vancouver Housing Authority front reception desk, 2500 Main Street, Vancouver, Washington 98660 at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud.

This project is partially financed through the Community Development Block Grant Program with funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  The contract will require the payment and tracking of federal wages thru Davis-Bacon and shall be subject to the regulations of the Department of Labor and Department of Housing and Urban Development.

A MANDATORY site walk-through will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012.  The address is 4921 NE Hazel Dell Ave., Vancouver, Washington 98663.  Meet in parking lot outside the building.

Brief Work Description:  Work includes replacement of exterior windows and entry doors, and interior modifications to bathrooms and other interior spaces, including mechanical and electrical upgrades.

Development

The VHA Development Department works to increase the amount of quality, affordable housing in Clark County. Developments have included special needs properties for seniors and disabled people, homes for first-time home buyers, tax-credit and bond-financed affordable apartment buildings, and multi-use developments that revitalize neighborhoods by providing housing for a mix of income levels.

Specifications for these developments are posted at area plan centers.

Construction and Renovation

The VHA's commitment to high standards of quality requires periodic renovation as properties age. Specifications for these projects are posted at area plan centers.

Materials

The VHA purchases and warehouses items necessary to maintain our subsidized and affordable housing. Examples include appliances, plumbing supplies, paint, flooring, window coverings, landscaping equipment, etc.
